Bute family papers, 1710-1811.

Letters, personal papers and printed material relating to various members of the Stuart family. Letters include 2 ALS from the 3rd Earl of Bute to his friend William Stewart; 7 letter drafts concerning the Marquess of Bute's embassy to Spain in 1795; and several business letters to the Marquess, including one from the engraver Caroline Watson concerning an auction at Christie's. Papers include a passport for James and Edward Montague and a painter's bill; printed material includes a copy of "The Convention between the Crowns of Great Britain and Spain" (1739) and "Supplement a la Relation de la Bataille de Lissa (1757).
